Meet our Magic Elves

Meet our Elves and their Pets!

Magic Elves -- these elves visit us at different times throughout the year. They stay with us from sometime around Thanksgiving through New Years.

Hannah -- Mackenzie's first elf. She has blond hair.

Abby -- My elf. She has a short black bob hair style.

Piper -- Piper has long blond braids.

Noah -- Jesse's elf. He has blond curly hair.

Nicholas -- Abby's twin brother. He has short black hair.

Abigail -- Abigail is a Hanukkah helper. She has brunette braids and is dressed all in blue.

Kimball -- Kimball is a cousin of the elves. He is a Leprechaun with red hair and freckles.

Pocket Elves -- these live with us all year because they aren't old enough to be Magic Elves yet.

Lexi -- Mackenzie's first pocket elf. She is Hannah's little sister and lives with us all year. She has blond hair like Hannah.

Lacey was adopted from Creative Kids Toy Shop.

Simon -- Simon has short blond curly hair.

Riley -- Riley has brown curly hair.

Noelle -- Noelle is a baby Leprechaun. She has long red braids and freckles.

Giant Elves -- These elves are 36" and they live with us all year too.

Welcome to Christmas 2010!

Our Elves are back!

11/20/2010 Saturday morning, I took the kids to the Build and Grow workshop at Lowes. When we pulled in the driveway, Mackenzie saw our door:

She knew they were back. I barely got the car stopped before she jumped out. They even left the snow can beside the door.

Hannah and Abby were riding on Rudolph and there was a baby reindeer named Cranberry. He is so cute and his fur is so soft. He really liked Rudolph and Rudolph thought he was cute.

We were a little disappointed that only 2 elves came to visit. We had asked Santa to send any that didn't have a home for the holidays. Then we found a note from "Bernard, the head elf"!!! He said the playroom was too messy for baby elves and that if we wanted more elves, we had to do some cleaning. I've never seen Mackenzie and Jesse clean a room so fast. Later that night, we went to buy our Christmas tree. We must have done a really good job cleaning, because when we got back home, there was a surprise waiting! There were trees in Mackenzie and Jesse's bedrooms and ornaments were everywhere. After looking around, we started finding elves all over the house!

Abigail was hiding in the freezer.

Noelle was hiding in my tree.

Kimball must have been hungry from the long journey from the North Pole. He was found in the bag of puppy food. (we had a talk about him not eating puppy food!)

Nicholas (Abby's twin brother) was sitting with the Grinch. Chia is scared of the grinch and kept barking at him!

Saturday night, the elves left a note in their new journal saying that they were sorry, but they were just too tired to do any mischeif. They must have played some during the night because they were scattered all over the bed.

11/21/2010 --Sunday evening, we went to Mimi's house so she could cut Jesse's hair. Guess what!!!! Santa had left an elf for Jesse! He's a boy with blond hair! His name is Noah.

Sunday night. We had our tree up and the lights on it, but only a few ornaments. The elves must have thought it looked bare because they were in the den trying to decorate the tree. Those naughty elves dumped over my whole box of decorations.

Piper and Abigail got tangled up in the candy garland.

Noelle and Lexi curled up in the tree skirt to take a nap.

Since Mackenzie had new elves and she wanted to show them to her friends Olivia and Haley, I told her she could take them one time. She didn't get ready in time to take them all, but she grabbed 3 elves and took them to school today and she was naughty herself. Her teacher saw them out at her work station and took them away! Mackenzie was lucky that her teacher gave them back!

New Rule-- No elves are allowed to go to school!!

11/22/10-- The elves were all on the couch and Jingle Bells was reading to them. Guess what he was reading!!! The Elf Magic story!

11/23/10 -- Mackenzie left a note asking the elves to hide in very hard to find places. Well they did! It took her almost an hour to find them all.

11/24/10 -- The elves made snacks for everyone and used little mugs, shot glasses and little tiny bowls with their names on them. They had water and mini marshmallows and Fruity Pebbles. They really enjoyed the Fruity Pebbles because they liked all the different colors and the sounds of them crunching!

11/25/10 -- Those naughty elves drove Mackenzie and Jesse's big 4 wheelers into the den!!!

11/26/10 Mackenzie spent the night with Mimi and took Lexi and Hannah. They must have played games all night because they had Spill and Spell spilled all over the table and it spelled I love you. The elves were found in the china hutch in Mimi's pretty glass things. I'm sure glad they didn't break anything!!! I forgot to sprinkle snowflakes on the ones that stayed at home and they didn't do any mischief!

11/27/10 -- Mackenzie spent the night with Mimi again, but left all those naughty elves at home. I remembered to leave crackers and water for them and I sprinkled them with magic snowflakes! They got in Chia's cage and played with her for awhile. Then they let her out and I found her asleep in bed with Jesse.

11/28/10 -- The elves almost ran out all of my ink in my printer. They printed out a bunch of coloring sheets and Christmas puzzles and games.

11/29/10 -- Mackenzie asked why she never saw where the elves fed their animals, so they left the bowls out where they fed them. The elves left an Elf-Magic CD with songs sung by the elves and a Rudolph coloring book for each of the kids.

11/30/10 -- The elves sat up all night playing the Wii. They played a fun game called We Wish You a Merry Christmas. There's a game on there called Elf Bowling and that's the one that was on.

12/1/10 -- Let the Games Begin!!! It's December now and the elves really get into mischief. They got into the board games. We have several Christmas themed games and the elves spread games all over the den. They played a Peanuts game, Snoopy Uno, Chrismtas Yahtzee, The Nightmare Before Christmas trivia game, and an I Spy Christmas game.

12/2/10 -- The elves were tired of waiting on me to put up all the stockings so they hung them up. They also hung up a stocking for each one of them.

12/3/10 -- Marshmallow Fight!!! They had a huge marshmallow fight in the den. I guess that was the closest thing they had to snowballs. They also left two marshmallow guns. They are lots of fun, but if you get hit, it stings. We have cleaned up marshmallows all weekend! Chia and Lucky love marshmallows.

12/4/10 -- Bad, bad, bad little elves. They brought in a 7 foot tall inflatable and set it up in the den. It is a snowglobe with Rudolph, Santa, the abominable snowman and Hermie the elf under a tree. It filled up the whole den, but it didn't work too well. The elves tried to fix it, but I think it's time for it to go out to the garbage pile.

12/5/10 -- The elves decorated Mackenzie and Jesse's trees with........their underwear!! Jesse was so embarrased to see that! Jesse wanted his underwear "off the tree"!

12/6/10 --Those elves were in very good hiding places this morning!

12/7/10 -- They got into all the Halloween candy that was left and they ate ALOT!!!! They all had tummy aches!

12/8/10 --The elves brought everyone new jammies for Christmas, a box of hot cocoa and 5 of their favorite movies to watch. Mark and I got new Snoopy sleep pants with a t-shirt to match, Mackenzie's are red with a monkey on the shirt and snowflakes on the pants and Jesse's are Mickey Mouse. They brought Santa Paws, The Legend of Santa Paws, The Polar Express, Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas and Elf.

12/9/10 -- When we woke up this morning, there was a note saying that there was an emergency meeting at the North Pole and all elves were called to go back. Hannah was allowed to stay because it was pajama day at school and she had planned to go with Mackenzie.

12/10/10 -- the elves came back and brought some snow from the North Pole and some Holiday Marbles. You add water and they get really big. They were alot of fun to play with.

12/11/10 -- the elves were tired from their journey and didn't get up last night.

12/12/10 -- The elves decided that Mackenzie's room wasn't decorated just right, so they put peppermints all over her room. The peppermints remind them of the North Pole.

12/13/10 -- We couldn't find them when we woke up this morning, but after looking, we found them in the Christmas tree and hiding in the presents.

12/14/10 -- Mackenzie's great grandma, Bea, spent the night and the elves were afraid they would wake her up and scare her if they did any mischief, so they were good and slept all night.

12/15/10 -- After sleeping all night last night, the elves had an all night movie marathon. They brought a popcorn tin and watched movies all night. They were watching Elf when we woke up.

12/16/10 -- Oh they were naughty last night!! We found a plushee Elf on the Shelf all tied up. Our elves had swords after him. They are naughty elves. The shelf elf's name is Cole.

12/17/10 -- The elves must have felt bad after what they did last night, so they asked the Elf on the Shelf to go camping with them. They tried to roast marshmallows over the battery operated tea lights. They brought a tent with them from the North Pole.

12/18/10 -- What mean elves, they tricked the Elf on the shelf! They had him locked up in a pet carrier!

12/19/10 -- The elves must have gotten hungry during the night and they took my car to McDonalds. There was trash everywhere. The elves said "it was too cold" for them to clean it up!

12/20/10 -- The elves brought 8 new reindeer with them. They put the reindeer in the hamster play pen so they wouldn't get loose. There was reindeer "poo" everywhere and lots of food dishes and marshmallows.

12/21/10 -- The elves wrote "Elf Magic" in Fruit Loops on the kitchen counter. The were in the pen with the reindeer when we woke up. They also went to the Christmas parade with us.

12/22/10 -- The elves know how much Mackenzie loves Scooby, so when she woke up, they had the big 4 foot inflatable Scooby sitting by the bed staring at her.

12/23/10 -- They used about 7 rolls of toilet paper to roll everyones bedrooms. Jesse was very upset that Santa might see his room "a mess" and we had to clean it up right away. In Jesse's room, they had tied Dino the dinosaur up where he couldn't move. In Mackenzie's room, they tied up the Shelf Elf.

12/28/10 -- Mackenzie had a couple of friends over. Hailee came over, but her elf wasn't with her. Olivia and her elves Jill and Joy and their little bear friend, spent the night. Our first Elf Sleepover!

The elves wrote with White Board markers all over Mackenzie's mirror. Each one wrote their name.

Our elves stay with us through the end of our break. They return to the North Pole right
before school starts back. Mackenzie left a note asking them to do mischief one more time and they left this on the counter for her and it was written in Skittles:

Our other Christmas Elves

We are starting a new Christmas collection. We are going to be collecting elves. They aren't as popular as some of the other Christmas icons such as Santa Claus and snowmen, but we love elves!! Hope to find more closer to Christmas and maybe there are some in the attic that I have forgotten about!

Mackenzie's Elf by Mimi

My mom wrote a book for Mackenzie about Hannah the Elf. Here is a picture of each page. Mom wrote the story and drew and designed each page. Some have stickers or stamps, but the drawings are hers. She should definitely be an author of kids books! She even did a watercolor painting on the cover.

To Mackenzie on her 8th birthday,

From Mimi, who loves you very much!

This is a story about Hannah the elf,

She lived with Santa Claus, not on a shelf!

Hannah was happy and she had lots of fun --

But her one wish was to be loved by someone!

She blew magic snowflakes into the night

And she wished this one wish with all her might!

Hannah's wish was granted the very next day --

She'd been adopted and was sent on her way!

When she saw Mackenzie she saw happiness --

Her wish had been granted -- She was truly blessed!!

She worked her elf magic -- she became a friend --

But December rapidly came to an end.

With Hannah's departure came lots of tears!

Elf visits through the year -- 2010

January -- The elves helped take down the Christmas decorations.....well, they didn't exactly help......

all tangled up in my "candy garland"! naughty little elves!

February -- Elves visit the Mouse! Their first trip to Disney World! Mackenzie found them hiding in the cup holder in the truck! The trip was Mackenzie's 8th birthday present. She also got a trip to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.

Look closely and you can see them hiding. Hannah is sitting on Pooh's arm and Lexi is hiding in the hunny pot. "Blankie, Bunny and Seal" are hiding around Tigger and Piglet.

It snowed one Friday afternoon and the next morning the kids went to play in it. The elves had a sleigh made out of Jesse's tool box and they slid down the sliding board. They loved the snow! It made them feel like they were at the North Pole!

March -- The elves visit on St Patrick's Day. They brought Lucky Charms cereal, green swords to eat it with and tiny green cups to drink out of. They left green cards and St Patty's stickers. Lexi was sitting in a bowl covered up with Lucky Charms and Hannah was hiding in the top of the box. They had little green hats made out of felt.

Even Chi-Chi had on Green. He gets along great with the elves.

We had a birthday party for Hannah! Her birthday is March 43 and she is Eleventy-four. Her birthday cake was decorated with red and green sprinkles.

We went to Riverbanks Zoo and Mackenzie, Jesse and Lexi had their picture taken. Lexi is in the blue flower.

We went to Isle of Palms with my brother Sloan, his wife Regina and their daughter Savanna. The day we left, there was alot of wind and rain. The elves loved the beach, but the wind scared them a little, they were afraid they would blow away and be taken out to sea!!

April --

Spring Break -- Me, Mackenzie and Lexi went to MagiQuest in Myrtle Beach!

When we went to see the Easter Bunny at the mall, Mackenzie was upset because Hannah didn't come to go with her, but when we got to the mall and took Jesse's stroller out of the truck, Hannah was in the stroller. We sure can't figure out how she got there!!! Jesse wasn't too happy with the Easter Bunny!!

Hannah Elf was hiding in the Easter basket that the Easter Bunny left. She was wearing her Snowflake Princess dress with a pretty yellow bow for Easter.

Mackenzie had Awana Awards night at church. She won a plaque for finishing all 3 Sparkies books and she won every jewel and patch that was available to Sparkies. The elves were very proud of her! So were mom and dad!!

May --
Back in March, Jesse fell in our pool one afternoon. Mackenzie was outside with him and she saw it happen, but she couldn't stop him. She knew we couldn't get to him in time, so she jumped in and kept going under until she found him. She was able to pull him to the side and saved his life. She was awarded the Lifesaver Award by the Woodmen of the World at a banquet on May 13, 2010. Here is a picture of Lexi and her award. The caption on the award describes Mackenzie perfectly! It says "Heroes are people who rise to the occasion and quietly slip away". She is Jesse's Hero!

Hannah came to see me for Mothers Day and brought me an Elf. Her name is Abby.

Lexi attended the "walking celebration" at Mackenzie's school.

Our new little niece, Kaylee, is not much bigger than Lexi. She weighs less than 5 pounds here, but she is healthy and has a healthy set of lungs!!!

June -- The elves were hiding in a grocery bag to visit for Father's Day. Here is Mark and all the little ones.

July --Mackenzie went to the zoo with her summer camp group. Lexi went with me to help me chaperone! Lexi doesn't like the heat!!

July 4 --
Naughty elves dumped out Jesse's Little Swimmers and Abby tried one on. It was a little too big!

We went to watch a fireworks display. They were so pretty!

We did some fireworks at home too.

We went on another field trip to Charlestowne Landing and we stopped by the big ships at Patriots Point. Here's Lexi posing in front of the ship.

We went on vacation to the mountains -- Cherokee and Maggie Valley NC and Gatlingburg and Pigeon Forge in TN. We visited Santa's Land in Cherokee and when we went to talk to Santa Claus, the elves were sitting on his chair with him. They were working with him but he allowed them to spend the rest of our vacation with us. The elves went mining, go kart riding, and saw lots of pretty mountains. Lexi had pictures taken in front of Looking Glass Falls in NC.

All the elves wanted to have their pictures taken with the Reindeer at Deer Farm petting zoo in Sevierville TN.

August --
August 9 -- Sad news -- Rascal is gone to play over the Rainbow Bridge. There are some pictures of him at the bottom of the page. We'll always love you Pup!

Jesse found the elves in a big bag hiding with a gift they had brought him. They stayed for his Toy Story birthday party. We always do a family picture on birthdays and the elves were in this one. Jesse got a new remote control 4 wheeler and Lexi enjoyed going for a ride!! Happy 3rd Birthday Jesse!

Before they went back, Mimi pierced their ears! Lexi's are silver, Hannah's are red and Abby's are green. They thought their new earrings were so pretty!!! She also made Lexi a pretty skirt out of some ribbon she had.

Hannah thought it hurt!Abby said it wasn't too bad!

They brought Mackenzie a new outfit for the first day of school because I had been too busy to go shopping. All dressed up for the first day of school!

They also showed up in my backpack for my birthday with a magazine I wanted and an Elf Magic magnet for me.

All the cousins at Mimi's house -- Savanna (2), Mackenzie (8), Kaylee (3 months), Jesse (3), Hannah, Lexi and Abby.

September --The elves are extremely busy and they emailed us to say they may not get to visit this month. We miss them, but we hope they get their work done so they can come back for Christmas! Elf Magic Rules! Elf Magic Elves are the best!!!

The kids went to the Kids Build and Grow workshop at Lowe's on Saturday and built a firetruck. The big firetrucks were there and they love getting in the firetrucks. Lexi of course was right there with them.

Well, tomorrow is the last day of September and we haven't seen the elves in a month! We miss you girls!!! Come when you can!!

October -- We had a birthday party for Lexi. Jesse, orange and black cupcakes and a light blue shirt ------- doesn't mix well, that poor shirt didn't come clean! LOL

The Fair was in town and we went one night. The kids love the rides, the lights and the games. I love the petting zoo and the animals and.....THE FUNNEL CAKES!!! yummy!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lexi wanted to sit on a tractor. Jesse did too, but he didn't get to.

Hmmm......we have a little snippet of news that has us puzzled! Hannah emailed Mackenzie and said that Abby has a twin brother! Wonder where he is? Does he have another family? Will he visit this year? Can't wait to find out!

They're back!!! The elves were at our house this morning with little gifts for everyone!
Lexi was dressed as a ghost, Hannah was a pumpkin and Abby was a witch. I made Abby's costume and Lexi's and left them out for them. Hannah's came from Elf-Magic.com. They brought mini beanies for the kids and glow-in-the-dark Pez dispensers. I got a tiny beanie pumpkin and Dad got some Reese's pumpkins. Happy Halloween!!!

They played with my Halloween beads and left their clothes in the floor where they changed! Just like the kids!

Halloween 2010

Jesse dressed up as Woody from Toy Story. The elves haven't seen that yet at the North Pole, but they hope to be able to see it while they're visiting for Christmas.

Mackenzie was a Gothic Vampire Girl. She was pretty.

This is Chia. She likes the elves.....they aren't sure if this is a good thing though. She grabs them and runs fast! She had her nails painted pink for Halloween.

We got to ride on the golf cart and go to houses to get candy. What fun!

Savanna was a ladybug. She went with us too.

Mom wore an ELF hat!!! How cool is that?!?!?! Chia was so cold so she curled up in a towel!

Relaxing after a busy night of trick or treating! Hope we don't get a tummy ache from all the candy!

Mackenzie and Jesse camped out in her room one night. The elves thought it was fun to sleep in the sleeping bags on the floor! They watched a movie before they fell asleep.

11/2/2010 -- Halloween is also Abby's birthday. We didn't really have a birthday party, but we went and spent the day at the beach to celebrate.

Jesse, Mackenzie, Rudolph, Hannah, Abby, and Lexi. Rudolph was made at Build a Bear at Broadway at the Beach.

It was chilly on the strand. We took a blanket and had a picnic on the beach. We were about the only ones there.

Mackenzie started throwing french fries to the seagulls and they started attacking us. We had to hide the elves because I was afraid the gulls would grab one and fly away!

Note from the elves:

Well, Halloween with our family was a blast! It's time to go back and finish up our work at the North Pole. Only 4 weeks until Thanksgiving and then we'll be able to visit again! We can't wait! Hope they're ready for us!! We have lots of mischief planned and lots of surprises!

11/12/2010 -- We went to Creative Kids toy store in Columbia! What a cool store! They had Elf-Magic elves living there for the holidays and they sell travel tickets for the Magic elves. We adopted a pocket elf named Lacey. She's cute and has short black hair. Wish we could've adopted all the elves! They even had a big elf (the 36" elf) visiting there! I wanted that one! They had quilts and clothes and I did get a new Elf Magic book and DVD. Great story! It tells the story of the elves and Santa and even tells about Baby Jesus.

Elf Mischief - 2009

Hannah Elf arrived in December 2010.

Dec 3 2009 -- Hannah arrived. Hannah and Mackenzie were BFFs from the first minute they met! She went with us to pick out our Christmas tree and that night she stacked up a whole bunch of Solo cups in the kitchen. She fell into one of them and got stuck.

Dec 4 -- Hannah went to school with dd and also rode the bus to after school care. Whe wrote Mackenzie a note on her whiteboard in her room. It says "You are my BFF" and Hannah was standing in the pouch that holds markers.

Dec 5 - Hannah got the kids Christmas trees out of the attic and decorated them and placed one in each room. While putting the tree up in Jesse's room, she got tangled up in the lights and was hanging by her feet. She had all the other stuffed animals helping her.

Dec 6 -- Hannah went to visit my grandparents in another town with us. She dyed the water in the toilets red or green and printed lables for Mackenzie.

Dec 7 -- Went with the kids to see Santa at the mall. that night, Hannah, 2 barbies and the reindog got in the convertible (Barbies's) and they set up a "drive in" and watched movies, ate popcorn and drank Dt Pepsi. they made a mess with the DVDs and popcorn

Dec 8 -- Hannah was nice and cleaned out the fish bowl for Mackenzie and Rainbow the fish, but then she made a fishing pole out of a pencil, string and paper clip and tried to catch the Betta fish. She left a letter and a pencil for Mackenzie.

Dec 9 --Hannah found another elf that looked like he could be her dad up in the attic and they stacked up the couch cushions from the den, in my Durango and they went to McDonalds. They left the radio turned up loud, their change and their trash in my truck!

Dec 10 -- Hannah and the reindog (a stuffed dog dressed like a reindeer) had a snowball fight on the kitchen table using mini marshmallows and solo cups as a fort. All those white dots are marshmallows.

Dec 11 -- Hannah went to work with me today and went all over the building taking pictures while we were having our Christmas breakfast. During the night she got to missing home and hid in our freezer under the ice packs

Dec 12 -- She dumped out our 12 days of Christmas gifts and hid in the middle of them.

Dec 13 -- Hannah climbed a ladder up to the Christmas tree and took off all ornaments with Mackenzie's name on them and lined them up in front of the TV.

Dec 14 -- Hannah hung our stockings up for us and took a picture of herself and made a snowglobe for us to keep.

Dec 15 -- Hannah and the reindog made a slide out of my ironing board and landed in a big blanket on the floor

Dec 16 -- Hannah wrapped all Mackenzie's school books in Christmas paper and she found them in her backpack when she got to school. She left a mess in the den where she wrapped the books.

Dec 17 -- Stacked up all the presents under the tree in a tall stack and was sitting on top of them.

Dec 18 -- Left pencils for the kids and since Mackenzie was sleeping with me that night to watch a movie as a treat, Hannah climbed in bed with us to snuggle.

Dec 19 -- Mackenzie was sick and Hannah stayed with her all night.

Dec 20 -- Hannah rested tonight because she was tired from sitting with Mackenzie the whole night before.

Dec 21 -- Hannah knocked over the Christmas tree in Mackenzie's room and knocked the ornaments off.

Dec 22 -- Hannah and the reindog made snowangels in fake snow on the kitchen counter

Dec 23 -- Unwrapped one of Jesse's big presents and crawled in the bag and fell asleep

Dec 24 -- Rolled Mackenzie's room in toilet tissue.

Dec 25 Hannah was supposed to return to the North Pole with Santa, but Mackenzie was so upset that she wouldn't even look at her presents. Luckily, we found Hannah sitting over the side in a chair and she had broght her little sister Lexi to stay with Mackenzie for the year. Hannah was allowed to stay until New Year's Eve.
